Gibsons, on the west shore of scenic Howe Sound can be reached via a 45-minute ferry ride from Vancouver B.C. The town became well known when it was featured on CBC television's long running Beachcombers sereies. It is also a familiar haven for fishing boats and a home for the forest industry, including a major pulp and paper mill. Visitors come for the outdoor recreation opportunities: mountain biking,sports fishing, kayaking and hiking.
